Setting: A sunny afternoon at the lake town near the Grasslands. The water is clear, and the three warriors are taking a rare break from the Orochi conflict.
Zhao Yun (wearing a sleek black swim brief): "The water is remarkably refreshing today. It is a welcome change from the heat of the front lines."
Xiao Qiao (in a bright orange one-piece, splashing her feet): "I told you! The lake is the best place to forget about those grumpy demons for a while. Come on, Zhao Yun, you're being too serious even in a swimsuit!"
Ling Tong (wearing a bold red swim brief, leaning back on the grass): "Give him a break, Xiao Qiao. Old habits die hard. Though, I have to admit... even I feel lighter without all that armor weighing me down. The red helps me move faster in the water, too—at least, that's my theory!"
Zhao Yun (smiling): "Perhaps you are right. For today, the spear stays on the shore."
Xiao Qiao (laughing): "That’s the spirit! Last one to the big rock has to buy the snacks!"

Setting: A vibrant, sunny beach at the lake town, where Zhao Yun, Xiao Qiao, and Ling Tong are relaxing. They hear footsteps and turn to see Zhu Rong approaching.
Zhao Yun (looking up from the shore): "Ah, Zhu Rong! The water is perfect. You timed that well."
Zhu Rong (wearing a fierce, fiery pattern bikini, hands on hips): "Of course I did. Nanzhong never gets to enjoy waters this calm. I heard you all were having too much fun without the Fire Goddess present."
Xiao Qiao (waving excitedly from the water in her orange one-piece): "Zhu Rong, your swimsuit is amazing! Come on in, the water feels great!"
Ling Tong (lounging in his red swim brief): "Careful you don't boil the lake, Zhu Rong. We just got the temperature right."
Zhu Rong (smirking): "Don't tempt me, Ling Tong. I can handle the water just fine. Now, make room, the real fun is about to begin!"
Zhao Yun (smiling as Zhu Rong wades in): "It seems our peaceful afternoon just got a little more exciting."

Setting: The four warriors are now all submerged in the refreshing water, floating and relaxing together under the warm sun.
Zhu Rong (sighing in contentment): "This is the life. No demon snakes, no battle strategies, just quiet water."
Ling Tong (floating on his back, eyes closed): "Exactly. My muscles were starting to get stiff from all that spear-swinging. This is exactly what I needed."
Xiao Qiao (splashing gently): "It’s so peaceful. I wish we could stay here forever instead of going back to the fight."
Zhao Yun (treading water calmly): "We must return eventually, but these moments of peace are what we fight for. We should cherish this rest."
Zhu Rong: "Well said, Zhao Yun. For now... complete and total relaxation."

Setting: The clear blue waters of the lake town. Below the surface, the sunlight filters through in shimmering rays, while the surface remains calm and peaceful.
[Underwater]
Zhao Yun (In his black swim brief, gliding effortlessly through the water): (Gives a thumbs up and a serene smile, his movements fluid and calm as he explores the lake floor.)
Ling Tong (In his red swim brief, swimming circles around Zhao Yun): (Points toward a school of small fish and grins, clearly enjoying the weightlessness of the water.)
[On the Surface]
Xiao Qiao (Floating on her back in her orange one-piece, arms spread wide): "Hey, can you guys see them down there? It looks so sparkly from up here!"
Zhu Rong (Floating nearby in her bikini, eyes closed and soaking up the sun): "Let them stay down there for a bit, Xiao Qiao. It’s the only way to get those two to stop talking about duty and training."
Xiao Qiao (Giggling): "You're right! It’s like the lake is our own little fortress of peace."
Zhu Rong (Sighing happily): "Exactly. Just the sun, the water, and no one trying to conquer anything. This is the real victory."

Setting: The four warriors are all peacefully floating on their backs in the calm lake water, the sun warming their faces.
Zhao Yun (Eyes closed, arms gently moving to stay afloat): "This... this is true serenity. I feel as though I could float here forever."
Xiao Qiao (Bobbing gently in her orange one-piece): "I know! It's like a cloud made of water. So much better than a dusty battlefield."
Ling Tong (Drifting slowly past Zhu Rong): "If only every day in the 'Curse of the Demon Snake' world was this calm. No worries, no commanders yelling orders."
Zhu Rong (Floating elegantly in her bikini): "Don't get used to it, Ling Tong. I already feel rested enough to set something on fire. This peace is nice, but Nanzhong is waiting!"
Zhao Yun (Opening one eye with a smile): "Not today, Zhu Rong. Today, we simply float."

Setting: The four friends are still floating in the serene lake water.
Ling Tong (Flexing his arms proudly for Zhu Rong): "Hey, check this out, Zhu Rong! All this swimming has been paying off! Look at the definition here!"
Zhu Rong (Rolling her eyes with a playful smirk): "Oh please, Ling Tong, like I haven't seen a muscle before. Nanzhong warriors are built of tougher stuff than that."
Ling Tong (Puffing out his chest and striking an exaggerated pose right in front of her): "Are they? Can they do this? This is peak physical condition!"
Zhu Rong (Laughing, playing along with his silly boasting. She leans in close, putting her thumb in her mouth and blowing air, as if inflating him like a toy): "You're so full of hot air, Ling Tong, you're going to inflate like a balloon! Pfffth! There you go, back to normal size!"
Ling Tong (Deflating his pose dramatically and splashing her): "Hey! It was a good pose while it lasted!"
Xiao Qiao (Giggling at the playful exchange from a few feet away): "You two are impossible!"
Zhao Yun (Shaking his head with a gentle smile): "Never a dull moment with these two."

Setting: The four warriors are drifting near the shoreline of the lake town. Ling Tong is still laughing after his play-fight with Zhu Rong.
Ling Tong (Grinning and pointing at Zhu Rong as she floats perfectly still on her back): "Hey, Zhao Yun! Xiao Qiao! Look over here! I think Zhu Rong has finally turned into a balloon!"
Xiao Qiao (Giggling and paddling over): "A balloon? She does look pretty bouncy just floating there! Is she going to fly away if the wind picks up?"
Zhao Yun (Wiping water from his eyes and smiling): "She certainly seems light enough now. Perhaps it was all that 'hot air' you mentioned earlier, Ling Tong."
Zhu Rong (Keeping her eyes closed but smirking as she drifts): "Careful now. This 'balloon' might just pop and splash you all the way back to the castle if you don't watch it!"
Ling Tong (Laughing): "See? She’s even filled with fire! A true Nanzhong hot-air balloon!"
Xiao Qiao: "Race you to the shore before the 'balloon' catches us!"

Setting: The playful atmosphere at the lake town takes a magical, cartoonish turn. After Ling Tong’s joke about her being a balloon, a sudden surge of "Demon Snake" energy causes Zhu Rong to puff up like a giant beach ball!
Ling Tong (Eyes wide, pointing): "Whoa! I was just kidding, but she really is a balloon now! Zhao Yun, Xiao Qiao—help me out before she floats away for good!"
Xiao Qiao (Giggling as she prepares her fans): "Don't worry! We’ll get the air out! Take this!"
(Xiao Qiao performs a light spinning strike toward Zhu Rong’s midsection.)
Zhao Yun (Leaping from the water with grace): "Forgive me, Zhu Rong! I shall aim for the center to ground you!"
(Zhao Yun delivers a precise, non-lethal tap with the butt of his spear right toward her navel.)
Ling Tong (Diving in for the final hit): "And one more for good measure! Hya!"
(Ling Tong strikes with his nunchaku, hitting the 'release valve' at her navel.)
Zhu Rong: "Wait, wait, guys— PHHHHHHHHHRRRRRT!"
Zhu Rong (Whizzing through the air like a punctured balloon): "Waaaaaaaah! I’m flying! I’m flyiiiiing!"
(The air hisses out loudly as Zhu Rong zips in zig-zags across the blue sky over the grasslands, spinning wildly until the very last bit of air escapes.)
Xiao Qiao (Shielding her eyes from the sun): "Look at her go! She’s like a firework!"
Ling Tong: "There she goes... look out below!"
(With a final "splat," a completely flattened, paper-thin Zhu Rong drifts down from the sky and lands softly on the grassy shore.)
Zhao Yun (Walking over to the flattened Zhu Rong): "Are you quite alright, Lady Zhu Rong?"
Zhu Rong (Muffled, speaking from the ground like a rug): "Next time... I'm just staying in the water. Can someone... puff me back up?"
Xiao Qiao, Ling Tong, and Zhao Yun: (All burst into laughter together.)

Setting: The playful attack by the trio sends a ballooned Zhu Rong zipping uncontrollably through the air high above the lake town.
Zhao Yun, Ling Tong, & Xiao Qiao (Watching from the water): "There she goes!"
Zhu Rong (Whizzing through the sky): "Waaaaaaaah! I can't control my fligh—look out beeeeelow!"
(High above, a massive, shadowy Demon Snake—part of the "Curse" that brought the heroes together—is slithering through the sky.)
Demon Snake (Hissing in surprise): "Sssssss!? What is thiss—"
[SPLAT!]
(Zhu Rong, still deflating and moving at incredible speed, crashes head-on into the Demon Snake. The force is enough to instantly knock out the monster.)
Ling Tong (Cheering): "She got it! Zhu Rong with the assist!"
Xiao Qiao (Clapping her hands): "She took it down! The Nanzhong air-strike!"
(Having run out of air completely, the now flattened, paper-thin Zhu Rong drifts gently down from the upper sky, landing flat on the grassy ground next to the defeated snake.)
Zhao Yun (Walking over, impressed): "An unconventional but highly effective tactic, Lady Zhu Rong. The threat is neutralized."
Zhu Rong (Muffled, speaking from the ground): "See? Told you I was useful. Now, someone put me back in shape. I think I need a vacation from this vacation."

Setting: The Demon Snake is defeated! The "Curse" of Olympos is broken. The four warriors have returned to the peaceful lakeside village, celebrating their final victory. Zhu Rong is back to her normal shape, looking happy and powerful in her bikini.
Zhu Rong (Smiling broadly, arms wrapped around Ling Tong and Xiao Qiao): "That's how Nanzhong handles a 'Curse of the Demon Snake'! We flatten them with teamwork!"
Ling Tong (Grinning, back in the water): "Only you could turn being a balloon into a winning battle strategy, Zhu Rong. I'm just glad we didn't have to fight a second one."
Xiao Qiao (Splashing Zhao Yun gently): "The world is finally safe again! Which means we get to keep this peaceful lake town exactly as it is."
Zhao Yun (His black swim brief gleaming in the sun, a rare look of pure relief on his face): "Indeed. The gods of Olympos have been satisfied, and the lands are restored. Our duties as warriors are fulfilled."
Zhu Rong: "So, what's next?"
Ling Tong: "I think that's obvious."
Zhao Yun: "More relaxation."
Xiao Qiao: "And snacks!"
(They all laugh happily, floating together in the water under the perfect, peaceful sky.)

In Ma Chao's side of the battle (Chapter 2), the pyrocannons are already active in the center and must be defeated in order to give a clearer route for the cavalry. After securing the central area, the Lu Bu forces lead a pincer attack alongside the their reinforcements. After the pincer attack is thwarted, only Jia Xu, Wang Yi, Jia Chong, Guo Huai, Hisahide Matsunaga, Dian Wei remains, and defeating the strategist will finish the battle.

Zhao Yun is affiliated with the spear in this appearance. When he is equipped with it, he can perform a unique attack exclusive to him. Upon performing his Musou techniques, he will automatically use the weapon in his attacks.

EX Attack: , , , : Thrusts his spear forward in a charge, energy-drilling his target upward into the sky upon connecting. Counts as an unblockable grab.

Musou - Flying Dragon (飛龍閃): : Charges straight ahead with a forward-diving-spiral thrust, surrounded by a powerful aura just before braking into a landing slide. Classified as a Multi-strike Musou in Next and used in Warriors Orochi 3.

Aerial Musou - Dragon Wave (風龍波): , : Throws the spear into the ground while airborne, hitting enemies in a large area with a windy blast.

Zhao Yun is affiliated with the dragon spear in this appearance. His EX Attack and Musous remain unchanged. Although it should be noted that his EX Attack deals much more damage than when he was affiliated with his original moveset.

Dynasty Warriors Next

Speed Musou - Blast: Tap both sides of screen: Zhao Yun sends out multiple energy waves while running around the battlefield twirling his spear. Upon ending the assault, he then performs a diagonal spinning leading to a slam on the ground.

Warriors Orochi 3

Character type changed from Technique to Speed. Loses the ability to critically hit, but gains the ability to air dash and jump cancel, along with a new Type Action.

, : Descends downward to smash the ground, causing nearby foes to lose their balance.

, : An air dash that makes him temporarily invincible. Zhao Yun rolls forward through the air.

R1: Pierces enemy with a rushing charge to scoop them with a lifting strike, then slams launched targets into the ground which sends a vertical air slash forward a distance.

, R1 (Ultimate only): Somersaults high into the air and drives spear on the ground via a diving slide to throw a vertical air slash forward similar to his grounded R1.

Zhao Yun keeps the same moveset from the previous title with the following additions.

EX Attack 2 (Xtreme Legends only): , : Performs a quick ascending spin before unleashing a vertical swing upon landing.

Alternate Musou - Heavenly Dragon Wave (烈翔・天龍波): R1 + : Performs a flurry of spear swings that vary in range and direction via a twirling dance, leaving pale blue energy trails. The attack ends with a two-handed swing to his left that clears out foes in front.

Awakening Musou: Performs a vertical spinning attack continuously. It ends with a sudden push which releases a powerful burst of energy. The extended version of the attack evolves the first phase into a series of fiery twirling slashes while running around before launching affected foes with a horizontal swipe.

, , , : Same as before, but with a pale-blue energy dragon trailing Zhao Yun's slash which then flies forward after one orbit around Zhao Yun himself.

, , , , , : Zhao Yun spins in the air vertically akin to a spinning-top on its side, and ends with a downward-vaulting kick to a slamming-slash down (akin to his C1-EX). An energy dragon trails his spearhead-motion and kick during the attack and impacts the ground upon the final slamming-slash.

: Same as Normal Musou, though instead of the original wind-tunnel aura, he instead unleashes an energy dragon in front of him that flies forward in a drilling vortex.
